Under The Spell of Morel

Such a concert happens only once every few years...The main piece of the program was the concerto for guitar called Fantasia de la Danza, which closed the first part of the concert. This was an unusual piece showing off the great imagination of Morel as a composer. The Argentinean gave this piece an extremely varied palette of moods and lyric themes, with aggressive motifs played with intensity. Intensity and aggressiveness are also characteristic of the interpretation or performing style of Morel. Conscience spontaneity full of integrity represents Morel's hot South American temperament. The sound of Morel's guitar---dry, coastal and almost piercing...
